3 Steps To Create Branding Using Favoricon

Create favor icon is not that hard if you know how to do it. You can use your existing image to create your blog/site favor icon

What is Favor Icon?

Step 1 : How To Create Favor Icon?

There are 2 ways to create an .ico file:

• You can either create an image file of gif, jpeg or png and convert it to icon file format
• Or you can create an icon file straight away using certain graphic application.

Thing to note here is favor icon image file must be in .ico file format.

To make thing simple, you can use this web application to create your favor icon: Favoricon.cc - you can either upload your own image file or create the icon image file in this web application.

Step 2 : Upload Your Favor Icon File Into Your Server.

After you can create the icon file using favoricon.cc web application, you must save it as favoricon.ico file to your local disk. Then, upload the favoricon.icon file to your server top folder. You can either use FTP application or CPanel File Manager application to upload your icon image file.

Step 3 : How To Put Favor Icon In Your Blog Or Website?

After you have upload the icon file, now you need to use html code to point to the icon file, here is how to do it:

If you have a static website just add this line of code into your html page:

<link rel=”shortcut icon” href=”http://www.yourdomain.com/favicon.ico” />

Same, if you have a wordpress blog, just add the same line of code in your header.php template file:

<link rel=”shortcut icon” href=”http://www.yourdomain.com/favicon.ico” />

After you add this line of code, just refresh your browser, you should see you new favor icon appear in your browser!
