Batch Blogging : Did You Notice I Was Away?

I was away for a week again and unable to reply the comments:)

The reason I bring this up is because I like to introduce one of my secret weapon of managing multiple website and startup : Batching Concept.

What is batching? I”m not really good at defining term, as far as my understanding of batching is … you do thing in a roll or unit. It’s allow you to cut down the cost or time of switching focus. ( Maybe someone can help me defining batching by leaving a comment down there ).

Yeap, Why Batch Blogging?

Benefit #1 - Vacation Anytime! As you do batching blogging, it’s allow you to be on vacation to a place without wireless or internet connection. All you need to do is write up all the articles and post it in advance.

Benefit #2 - Pump Up Productivity! When you do batch blogging, you are on the roll and have more productivity. For example, sometime, in one hours, I write up 4 articles and I’m set for the whole week without blogging. Sound too good to be true. Yes it is:)

Of course, there is a pro and cons to do batching.

Bad Thing About Batch Blogging.

Concern #1 - Server is down! You really need to get a good web hosting and secure your web application. In hoobin.com, you have read the first hand information about how we lose our good traffic due to a spammer hacking our web server. My web hosting company shut the server down. Well, because I was away, I only manage to get it running again after 4-5 days down time. Because of the long down time, Google search engine think that our website is no longer exist or relevant, it’s stop sending good traffic and our keyword ranking go down. This is TERRIBLE! we still haven’t recover half the traffic yet. Talking about batching blogging and being away.

Cencern # 2 - You are not talking! Yeap, when you do batch blogging, you really can’t reply your comment on time. This is bad, you are not making friends and missing the very important ingredient of blogging, which is communication.

My Take On This As One-Man-System Practicer

I think the benefit of batch blogging really out weight the concern. The concern can be address easily if you know your priority and way to work around it. Batch blogging is one of the center idea of one-man-system and productivity. Life is beautiful and more focus if you do BATCH! Well, your input about batch blogging concept is always something I like to hear from, we will talk and discuss about how to work around it in the future blog post, this is something that I’m looking into too. Now, I think your concern will be “How To Do Batch Blogging?”.

How To Do Batch Blogging?

To do batch blogging in Wordpress is easy. All you need to do is set your “Post Timestamp” into the future date you want and press publish. I have some picture to show you to make this more descriptive.

As you can see, I have set the post timestamp to year 24 October 2008 rather then 2007. And I will publish it. It will show up in year 2008:) Remember to “Publish” rather then “Save”.

Well, Wordpress have make batch blogging easy. I can’t tell you how much time it’s have help me to save and travel using batch blogging concept in Wordpress.

Great, this post is getting a bit long to write. It’s good to be back and start writing more useful tips. Man, when I look at my plan for hoobin.com, it’s still have a long way to go before I finish writing my core/pillar content for one-man-system of how to really grow money online and share “how to work less and earn more”. I really wish I”m better and faster writer:) Anyway, I think this project is meaningful to show it’s possible to earn more and work less in the RIGHT way using one-man-system in the startup up entrepreneur point of view and approach.
