We have design couple of website using wordpress. And we found there are couple of limitation to turn wordpress into content management system, if we didn’t design carefully in the beginning.

After couple of mistakes we make, we think the best way to put wordpress into content management system is to use page feature rather then post feature:

It’s best to use write post for blog posting or news.

To Write Page

To write page is best to use it for writing something more timeless and work as HTML page without coding HTML. Because of it’s lacking of the build-in feature to categories and need more customization for organized it’s page, people usually use “post” to do it since we can use post category to organize blog post and work out correctly in the default template. But this can become a problem if you start using “post” to do it as your content management system.

Use page as your content management system page will help you avoid a lot of problem in the long run. And “post” is still best use it for blog post due to it’s RSS subscription nature.
