For no reason, our website is down for 30 minutes.
Of course, at first we thought that we did some php coding in our site since we are doing the usability design update. But after trace for it, it’s doesn’t seem like our customize wordpress application fault. We look at the error log in the CPanel, it’s more like our server php compiler error. Straight away, we submit a ticket issue to our web hosting, and it’s being solve within 10 minutes.
The Reason
The actual problem is our web hosting re-compile the apache and php compiler due to urgent matter, it’s some what screw up our share hosting too. It’s not digg effect that bring down our server, that’s a relief:)
This is the price you paid when you using share hosting. So far our traffic is still not high enough for us to switch to dedicated server hosting. And we are quite happy with the performance from our current web hosting.
Anyway, we just wanted to write this post to apologies for the 30 minutes down inconvenience and also share our experience on how we solve the problem - First thing to do is look at your error log file and email your problem to web hosting support:)

We just receive an email from PayPerPost mention that our blog have being rejected because our blog is not a blog rather then a website. I hope this is not because we say bad thing about payperpost.
No, I think pay per post wouldn’t do that. Do they? Anyway, here is the reason they give us in their email:
Unfortunately, as per our terms of service, blog postings for remuneration through our service should only be made on blogs, and not Websites, message boards, e-mails, IM or other similar services. An example of a blog can be found here:
http://blog.payperpost.com
Well, we don’t quite agree that our website is a just website. Our website have a blog, and it’s construct using blog platform - wordpress. I think what can we learn here is during our submission to pay per post, it’s mention that we need submit RSS feed, achieves page and first post. Since we don’t have an achieve page, we just simple submit hoobin main page as achieve page and first post. This might be the bummer why they think our blog is not a blog. Bad idea:P

Most of our traffic come from Google search engine, and after redesign our blog, we got the bounce rate as high as 100%. Well, this is the price we have to pay for not design carefully in the first place. Anyway, we think we will stand a better chance to help our reader to find the information they want with this new design and architect.
Most of the website, their link to page is strongly depend of their folder and file name. To create a permanent link to a page require great planning. But if you are using wordpress, you might able to do this in a much easy way by setting your option in permalink to include just your post title and post id( %post_title% ). By doing so, you can restructure your blog in different category without breaking your permanent link. Using post id alone might not be a good idea because it’s mean nothing to search engine optimization.

Well, notice any difference? We did a lot of redesign so that you can locate the information you want about how to make money online faster and easier. We found out that most of the how to make money online blog don’t have a very good information architect to allow new users to locate what they are looking for easily, that’s why we come up with this “ground breaking” design using our blog website, interesting huh? We will share more about how we design it using wordpress in our handbook guide, if you ask for it.
For now, we have divided our hoobin website & blog into “Blog“, “Handbook“, “Article” and “Review“.

This is the question we need to ask ourselves before we started to write anything in hoobin.com
Hmm, we did write couple of articles and reviews without realise this. Anyway, this will be a sign of “progress” and history log for our hoobin.com. We finally figure out that by answering this question, we can write better articles and recommend better “make money online” program and ebook.
So back to the ultimate question:
We started Hoobin.com because we believe in …
“Wealth, today, comes from sharing success, not with-holding it”
We started this informative website to create wealth and help other to do so, but without knowing clearly why we started this in the first place, we just can’t write a helpful articles because we don’t know why we write this thing in the first place, and NOW we know
We still in the beta version, and we are contantly improving this website and now … blog to share and to communicate with the people who share the same passion and want to make money online.
Today, mark the first milestone for our hoobin.com because we have a blog, and a clearer “mission”. To burn this into our head, we call this “mission” or “way”, the hoobin way of writing articles and blog. And start from this moment, we name ourselve hoobiner because we will do and write “the hoobin way”. What do you think? Does it sound good? Anyway, it’s good that we write this down.
