DNA Of Great Website

Well, last post I was mention a bit about the DNA of Internet and DNA of Great Website.

I argue that when internet is getting more complex ( well welcome to Web 2.0 ), the search engine trying to solve the DNA of internet is no longer possible or feasible in this decade, the only easy way out is look for pattern of DNA of great website.

So What Is The DNA Of Great Website?

Of course, people are smarter then search engine robot, we can spot a spam website and great website. But how search engine know it’s a great website?

Currently, there are couple of technology can be implement to send some signal to search engine about your website

Visitor Feedback

First, do searcher click your website link through their search engine result.
Second, how long they stay in your website before going for a second search.

Keyword Relevancy

Your on page related keyword, SEO call it latent semantic index - I call it’s on page related words. Word stuffing not longer work in Google, but stuffing latent semantic index might help:) The only thing is you need to do your home work before you can do it, so you might end up writing good quality content rather spam words articles:)

I think it’s time that some powerful search engine will take take this even further, they will analysis your overall keywords in your website. Tough luck to rank when you have different non-related topic in site. To rank, some SEO start focus on Theme Optimization or Silo Structure Design, or what ever they want to call it. The fact is we are entering the world of DNA of great website, and keyword relevancy analysis is new powerful tools to let the search engine identify whether your website is GREAT OR NOT.

The Fact

Links, anchor text, title page still carry a lot of weight, but DNA of Great website pattern will make a big different to rank you in TOP 5 or else for competitive keywords. You definitely can get away with easy rank keyword without talking about Latent Semantic Index. But most high commercial value keyword or make money keyword are competitive.

They start talking about this in 2005, by now, I”m sure it’s some what it’s start implemented in Google search result. Of course, the concern is whether they have the computing power to compute all this algorithm for billion of website. But I think in 2008, with all the talents, cash and mature of grid and distributing computing technology in Google, the search engine will become more and more intelligent.

And the obvious place to look is search engine result, it’s did show some pattern for ranking high for website that have great latent semantic index, theme, silo and visitor feedback website.

Anyway, if you still don’t know what I’m talking about, don’t worry, there are still many uncover great keyword that are less competitive, you might only need few links with good page rank juice, right anchor text, and right page title to put it there on Top 5 search engine result. But it’s definitely getting harder to be that lucky:)
