My Basic 101 Web Blog Usability Checklist

Clear blogging book has a topic mention that the Jakob Nielsen observation of the usability of the weblog, we think this is tremendous relevant to our fellow bloggers and serve as the basic checklist for our blog too.

We sum it up here and present the basic keys points and check list:

Jakob Nielsen have very good articles on web usability. We use it as our guideline for testing and redesign all of our web interface. His book is great, his website even better! We think this is just a starting point to cover the basic of web usability, we need more points and checklist added above.

Why?

Now, some web blog has evolving become less like blog. Our blog is one of them. Blog has become more like website and community web is start appearing in the process. We really pushing the limit for wordpress here. I don’t think at this moment, my writing skill will become top notch, maybe down the 10 years road of practice and writing blog. For now, how to put my internet strength into work is my strength in startup project management, programming, web analysis and user usability testing. So I put a little bit of what I learn here. The key is to help our reader and allow them to find something they want! Blog can’t do it, only the next generation blog & web can do this tasks, this is what get me excited also:) Continue pushing the limit of blog platform and of course, get the basic right! I’m happy with the progress, but the compilation and my writing is just too slow:) Well, this is something that I’m really have to work on.
