Secret Way To Out Perform Your Doorway Page In Wordpress

Most of your blog post might not be lucky enough to get high ranking with high search keyword.

High search keyword are competitive and you can only rank well unless you have high incoming links for that post. But not many blog post will have high incoming links unless that blog post being DIGG or promote intensively.

Well, we have more then “incoming links challenge” to make this really work for us.

Why?

Blog Post Are Not Design To Be Great At Welcoming Visitor.

Most visitor come to our site will not land on our main page. Most of them will be landed in our blog post.

Well, some hardcore social media marketer have manage to attract a lot of links using social media. But even though you have high incoming link for your blog post, but still blog post is a terrible landing or doorway page.

What Is Doorway Page?

A page which has been specially created in order to get high ranking in the search engine. Also call gateway page, bridge page, entry page and etc.

We like to call it welcome page. This is the page where we optimize for high search keyword that might result in 100 visitors a day.

Why blog post might not be a good doorway page :

This is the page that need to be constantly modify or optimize. Blog post will ping and do what ever necessary every time you do the modification. Some people even argue that blog post shouldn’t be modify at ALL. What ever the reason, blog post is really not a good doorway page.

Besides that, this is the page where we welcome our guest and most of our guest or visitor will have an objective in mind when they arrive at this doorway page. They need some answer now! Some of the answer they are looking for can’t really be answer just at one page. So this doorway page should really introduce where and how to really get more information to solve their problem. A better doorway page will have better stickiness effect.

What Is A Better Way To Do This?

After much try and error in wordpress, we think the static page use in home page still have much advantage over blog post. They are static, their webmaster is working hard to optimize that page for certain search keyword, exchange and attract link specifically for that page and it’s work great!

With static page, google or search engine might not put a time stamp on your page, and this result in more constantly traffic even though when time go by. (at least)

How can we apply the same success in Wordpress? The answer is design using Page feature in wordpress. The main advantage to write in blog or content management system is they really make your writing process so much easy then using website design software like dreamweaver and etc.

We have very much put our doorway page testing and practice into our Hoobin.com first. You can see our doorway example in our article section. How we design this doorway page is when we create a new page in hoobin under article, it’s will automatic appear under the articles page. This is the same concept in wordpress category, we just create a new template that work like category in pages.

You still can do it manual by link it manual in your wordpress page.
