Not that we spam the webmaster! We, web master being spam! The web master email address is what we use everyday to do our job! And each time, when we check our email, a lot of spam still coming in for the web master email account, not a great way to start a day.
How To Avoid
As a webmaster, it’s really easy to create couple of email accounts. For example, in hoobin.com, we can create webmaster-link1@hoobin.com, and use that to submit to all the link directory. If you are new to this web master things, use CPanel to do it.
Anyway, Always Have Multiple Email Address
In essence, submit your less important email address such as webmaster-link1@hoobin.com to submit to those link directory that look fishy. Alright, the hack with it, use it to submit to all the link directory - just don’t tell that we encourage you to do so:)
Well, we can tell you that the link directory owner seldom send you an email except when they need to you renew your link. So create a special email account for this really help.

What email client are you using? I’m having far less spam problems with Windows Mail than I did with Thunderbird, and previously Outlook Express 6. That doesn’t mean to say I don’t get any spam, though.
Thanks for the tip, though. I’m guilty of the same mistake you made.
Spud, I’m using outlook 2003, I have set up some spam filter, it’s still coming though. I guess I need more advance filter. Any tips?
Well, some of them got my main email address already. And some of them continue to spam my other web master account which I check only weekly, so I really want them to spam my other web master account rather then show up in my main mailbox:)
